You need a push email service to get alert for new email

like :
Exchange Server push email
or
Mobile Me Push email

Yahoo has push email, but not working well.

or you can change the fetch mail frequency
to say every 15 minutes (but consume more battery and connection charges)

Mobile Me is a paid service from Apple.

There are some paid services for Exchange server but not cheap as well.

Exchange Server usually are for Corporate users. Unless you can setup your own private exchange server at your home.

they are too expensive for me, at least only for push function. Some apple app has push email function like beejive

I created an account in mail2web. I donno why my iphone cant use it. It said password is wrong.

yes it is push email

you will receive the email within 30 seconds

you have to set up as exchange account in iPhone.

Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Add Account .... -> Microsoft Exchange

and enter this info

Email -> yourusername@mail2web.com

Username -> yourusername@mail2web.com

Password -> [your password]

Press Next -> Then it will ask you to enter

Server -> mobile.exchange.mail2web.com
Domain ->
(domain no need to enter)

so i can forward my any other email like netvigator, hotmail, gmail etc to mail2web and use as push mail right?

Yes you can forward from other mail services if you can set mail forward in your existing service, but this free push email account has only 1G total storage limit.

If you want more, you need to subscribe to the paid service.

I see, so then i can use hotmail in iphone now for free. If I forward my hotmail to this, will they only forward my new mail or they will sync all old mail to it too?

forward is for new message only
it is not the same as sync

If i e.g. forward the hotmail new mail to mail2web. Then I press reply in mail2web. Will it reply as mail2web address or hotmail address? Will the person who received my reply see my hotmail or mail2web address?
