I suggest you import this file to your iPhone 3G before you upgrade to iTunes 8.2 and then upgrade to OS 3.0.

As iTunes 8.2 have disabled the import of ipcc file

Smartone ipcc setting 
 
     "mms_proxy" = "10.9.9.9"; 
     "mms_proxy_port" = 8080; 
     mmsc = "mms.smartone-vodafone/server";


To use Internet Tethering to work, your computer should set DNS Servers for smartone
202.140.83.51
202.140.96.51

Here is the smartone ipcc file that I use.

我用 usb cable 成功試用。
但 bluetooth 就唔係好得。無 driver 喎。

downloaded the 123 ipcc file to my desktop, deleted the newest itunes and installed the previous itunes, import the 123 ipcc file and reboot......woohoo it works !!!!!

thank you so much !!!

one side note, the 123 icon has been changed, is it possible to revert it back to the original logo ???

windows
"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
or
"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1
depends on your system

mac
defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

now you can import the ipcc file by "Shift+ Check for update"

I have tested on my iTune 8.2.0.23 for x64 on Windows 7 Build 7100 to import "54201-smartone.ipcc"

剛找到 iTune 8.2.0.10 安裝了 54201-smartone.ipcc

You can enable your itunes 8.2 to allow importing carrier file by typing this in terminal (mac):

defaults write com.apple.iTunes carrier-testing -bool TRUE

If you are using windows type this in the command window:

"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.exe" /setPrefInt carrier-testing 1

Then run your itunes app and import away. smile

BTW, I found the operator logo was not changed..... (still text without png iamge). any idea to solve it? thanks in advance!
