In sum,
1) iPhone 2G can be unlocked and jailbreak for firmware 2.0 (build 5A347)
2) iPhone 3G can be jailbreak for firmware 2.0, but no unlock yet (as Bootloader has changed and no exploit found yet)

If you want to unlock & jailbreak your 2G iphone, you can use pwnage Tools (Mac version) or winpwn (Windows version)

Point 2 (no unlock) does not concern HK users, as 3 HK is selling unlocked phone.

Note:
jailbreak means you can use third party software that is not selling through iTunes AppStore. these "unofficial" thrid party software can run background processes like httpd server, and modding like summerboard or chinese input method (NativeCN, iAccess) etc or even a gcc compiler inside iphone. These unofficical third party software are distributed via Installer / Cydia

unlock means you can use other carrier's sim card in the phone, provided that the carrier network GSM frequency can be supported by iPhone.

係咪即係話 ... 如果在外國買左 3g phone 回港 ... 暫時未 uplock 到 ?

暫時用 ic card 卡貼 過多幾曰就有 unlock
